Leading Family Law solicitor announced as finalist for prestigious Law Awards

Annette Sheehan of FitzGerald Solicitors has been shortlisted for a prestigious Irish Law Awards.

The finalists for the AIB Irish Law Awards were announced this week and saw Annette Sheehan from FitzGerald Solicitors, Lapp’s Quay selected as a finalist in the category of Family Law Solicitor of the Year.

The awards, which are in their fourth year, recognise leading legal professionals by identifying, honouring and publicising their outstanding achievements and also their dedication to their profession.

Speaking on her announcement as Irish Law Award finalist, Annette Sheehan said “I’m delighted and very proud to have been shortlisted for the Family Law Solicitor of the Year award. It’s truly an honour, especially as the shortlisting was on the basis of nominations from clients.”

Sinead McNamara, Partner in FitzGerald Solicitors and Ireland’s first and only female Sherriff, praised Annette as much-deserving of the achievement.

“Annette is an outstanding law practitioner who strikes just the right balance between empathy and support while giving clear, detached independent advice to her clients. Particularly where there are children involved, Annette is always very quick to point out that while family law proceedings are extremely difficult, they will come to an end at some point and both parties will then have to co-parent their children long into the future. For this reason, Annette is always conscious of keeping acrimony out of family law proceedings in so far as is possible so as to ensure that the parents can have a good working relationship in the rearing of their children going forward.”

Annette Sheehan has worked with FitzGerald Solicitors since 2004.
