Philip O'Leary
Philip O'Leary is Commercial Partner of FitzGerald Solicitors. He was instrumental in the successful merger of three practices to form FitzGerald Solicitors.
As Commercial Partner, Philip has significant exposure within the organisation to large and sophisticated deals. Such work involves taking a multi-disciplinary approach and directing efficient resources for successful and timely outcomes.
Philip can manage and co-ordinate detailed documentation and advise to short deadlines, whilst ensuring compliance with best practice and quality standards. His ability to organise the resources of the Firm to deliver major contracts on time is a significant asset that is always put at the disposal of the client.
Philip advises private national and international businesses on commercial areas of practice. In addition, he has gained significant experience and a high profile from his work with the major Commercial Banks in relation to putting security in place.
For the past ten years, Philip has worked exclusively in the area of commercial lending and is primarily concerned with due diligence enquiries for banking institutions in respect of property and commercial transactions. Philip has extensive exposure to due diligence requirements on property-backed transactions, company acquisitions and other collateral security requirements. Section 60 procedures and Section 31 procedures are regularly handled to ensure full compliance and enforcement of security required to be put in place. In recent times, Philip has been instructed to carry out due diligence enquiries on behalf of a number of Banks on existing security held by the institutions and advising on necessary correction steps where necessary. In more recent years, commercial recovery strategies, including insolvency and advising both banks and receivers, have become a primary focus of practice and significant expertise and case exposure has been developed by Philip with a dedicated team within the Firm.
